Day 3…Our LITs were eager to get out and serve and tell other kids about Jesus! We prayed for beautiful weather, with no rain, and God answered our prayers.

At the beginning of each power camp, the LITs lead the kids in an ice breaker game. Here they are playing “duck, duck goose”.

Every day the LITs teach the kids a new memory verse. They play a memory verse game to help them learn the verse. In this picture, Abby (preteen from GHBC) is teaching the kids the bible verse.

Each day a different LIT presents the gospel. Today Stephen presented the gospel.

After hearing the gospel presented, Stephanie made the decision to follow Christ.

For our afternoon activity on Tuesday, we had the opportunity to play BINGO at the Senior Center. Our LITs had such a great time playing with them!

Day 2 Update:

Rise and Shine and give God the glory! Morning worship – great way to start the day!

“Bend Low”

Glen challenged each of us to humble ourselves, become nothing, and take on a role of a servant. Whether that means wiping a nose, sitting with a small child, picking up trash, we are called to be obedient and serve others. Students and leaders spent the remainder of their worship on their knees praying.

Site 5 –  Kids were jumping up and down and dancing all around, singing “Today is the day He has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.” Nothing better than teaching songs about Jesus!!

Site 2: Mathew Walraven sharing his story of how he became a Christian. He has a story to tell and is not ashamed to share it to whomever will listen.

Site 5: Maddie Smith telling today’s Bible story. Full of expression and life she kept the kids attention.

Site 2:  LITs were so excited that so many kids came out to spend the day with them. They shared a Bible Story, taught Bible verse, made crafts, played games , and shared the Gospel to all the children at each site.

Day 1 Update:

After months of training, our LIT’s were ready to get out and put into practice what they’ve been learning over the last year. Our day began with a time of prayer with our church family, led by our missions pastor. With 9 cars, 2 trailers, 32 students, 18 adults we were ready to hit the road and began our 3 hour journey to Austin.

We arrived at Great Hills Baptist Church, our host church, at 2:00 PM. We were welcomed by three of their preteen students, who are joining us this week. Chris, GHBC Apartment Missionary, led our LITs through an awareness training, to help inform them of the sights they would be at for the week. Students then divided up into their sight groups for last minute preparations. 4:00 p.m. came and students departed GHBC to go to their sites to canvas the apartment complexes and have a time of prayer.

When the groups returned from their sites we were all served a delicious homemade lasagna sent with us from Mr. Danny!  A HUGE thanks from all of us to you – it was scrumptious!!

During our evening worship and share time we learned that there would be an abundance of kids at two of our sites. We were so excited about the news and immediately began to pray! We knew that we would need more adults, especially male adults. We had two sites without male leaders. Our evening ended with a sweet time of worship , praying and trusting God to provide.
