Men’s Ministry
Huddle Groups
A regular gathering of men in small groups (7 men maximum). Men experience the challenges of self-disclosure, committing themselves to mutual support and encouragement.
Breakfasts
Periodic gathering time for men to fellowship and participate in a program which deals with current men’s issues, while enjoying a men-cooked-homemade breakfast.
Sportsmen’s Banquet
a. A yearly gathering of men who have a common interest in hunting and fishing. This is the highlight of the year for men and their sons to gather and fellowship while tasting the fruits of God’s abundance.
Men’s Retreats
Men gather either at the church, a park, or at an overnight camp where they can fellowship, play games, or participate in seminars. This is an ideal instrument where men can get away from the pressures of daily life, relax, and get to know other men of the church.
Direct mentoring
A one-on-one ministry where more spiritual mature men mentor new Christians. This cycle is repeated when the newly mentored man has an opportunity to be a mentor.
Security
A ministry where the men of the church supply security and parking assistance during official church functions.
Benevolence
This is a dual ministry. The first is associated with the Texas Baptist Men (TBM) where The Hillcrest Men respond to local and national disasters. The second is similar; The Hillcrest Men respond to needs within the community either responding to a disaster or to a benevolent need; where the TBM are not participating.
