Women’s Ministry

Thank you for visiting the Women’s Ministry page. We want you to know about the great opportunities available for women of all ages and stages of life. Our Women’s Ministry is here to support and enhance the mission of Hillcrest. With that goal, we designed the ministry based on 1 Peter 4:10 that says “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” We do this through a wide variety of activities that you will find listed on the web site, but most importantly through Bible studies for women. We invite and encourage you to join a small group of women where you can get to know the Lord and walk in faith. Our ministry serves a wide variety of women – working and stay at home women, married, singles, mothers, and seniors. We have a great retreat every fall and a time to celebrate the legacy of women with a mother daughter brunch in the spring.

Our Vision

The vision of our Women’s ministry is four fold:
  • Multiply Leadership: We want women to be confident in taking on new roles both inside and outside the church
  • Mobilize Women: We want to serve beyond the walls of Hillcrest and reach out to our community
  • Maximize Ministry: We help women see that ministry can be done in almost any context by every woman
  • Mentor Successfully: We are intentional about meeting the needs of women from every generation

“We are passionate about serving women and would love to meet you and help you find your place at Hillcrest, where we love and serve God and love and serve others.”

Get Connected

Connect Groups

Connect Groups meet weekly in homes, restaurants, or at the church. Each group consists of anywhere from 4 to 8 women who come together for fellowship, prayer and to study God’s word. While some groups may be a blend of women from a variety of life stages, other groups are formed around affinities such as moms, singles, new believers or career. Some groups may opt for a topical study relating specifically to women’s needs. Other groups might choose to study a specific book of the Bible. New groups are formed each summer.

Women’s Connection

Women’s Connection is a blog where women share their wisdom, poetry, interests, and concerns. We invite you to send your blog posts to women@hillcrestbc.com. We’ll get them added as quickly as possible and then other women can respond to your thoughts and ideas. While many of these posts will be related to our walk with Christ or events from the Women’s Ministry our goal is that we share all our lives – favorite recipes, craft ideas, help with raising children, or coping with the care of aging parents. We look forward to hearing from you!

Fall and Spring Bible Studies

Our Bible studies are open to the community so you do not have to be a member of Hillcrest to participate. Our classes are designed to help women increase their knowledge of the Bible and to be challenged through the teaching of respected authors such as Beth Moore, Nancy Leigh Demoss, and Priscilla Shirer . All of this is combined with an opportunity to connect with women of all ages through fellowship and prayer. Contact the church office for study information and dates.

First Place 4 Health

First Place 4 Health provides a biblical approach to weight loss and overall health management, which puts Christ first and improves every area of a person’s life. Although weight management is most often the motivation for joining a First Place 4 Health group, the focus is not just on the body or on the number on the scale. That’s a crucial difference between First Place 4 Health and other weight-loss programs. By applying disciplines that affect the whole person—the body, the mind, the heart and the spirit—you will not only experience physical health but will also experience total health. First Place 4 Health meets weekly with each session lasting 12 weeks.

Craft Ministry

Craft Night is a time for women to come together and celebrate our creative side in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Meeting quarterly, the evenings are focused on a specific topic such as prayer, missions, or holiday crafts. Every winter we spend a special weekend together making crafts, eating delicious food, and sharing devotionals every few hours from women of all ages.

Sew Much More

This ministry provides the sewing needs of the church including choir costumes, baptismal robes, table- covers, and sew much more! Everyone is welcome to participate and no sewing experience required. Sew Much More meets in the mission house workroom on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM.

Mission Scholarship Program

Our aim is to support students in discovering their role and purpose in God’s global cause of gathering believers to Himself. Each year the Women’s Ministry raises funds to be given to high school and college students going on summer missions. All Hillcrest high school and college students are eligible to apply. Application forms may be obtained from the church office or from the Women’s Ministry.
