MISSIONS BY THE BOOK

John 10:16
16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. (NKJV)

Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (NKJV)

Revelation 5:9

AIM

Our aim is to personalize missions by helping each believer to discover their role and fulfill their purpose in God’s global cause – gathering worshippers to Himself. In obedience to Jesus’ command and to facilitate personalization, our church is organized as a world mission strategy center using the Acts 1:8 guideline with teams that seek to reach people with the gospel in our Jerusalem (community), Judea/Samaria (Texas and nation), and Ends of the Earth (international).

GOALS

We set six goals in our mission efforts:

• Provide ministries to reach people with the gospel where they are
• Provide focused, specific, and timely prayer support
• Provide strategic financial support
• Provide volunteer mission teams as needed
• Provide opportunities for personal witness
• Provide counseling for those interested in missions

STRATEGY

Our strategy for involving our people in global missions is two fold:
1. Take Hillcrest to the world through our ministries and partnerships

• Jerusalem – High Pointe Apartment Ministry, Cedar Hill Food Pantry, Sound Options (crisis pregnancy), Bridges Safehouse, Good News Club, Nursing Home Ministry, ESL, Love Loud (community ministry day)
• Judea/Samaria – Frontier Association (WY – trips, 2 new church starts), Covenant Church (LA – new church start)
• Ends of the Earth – Thailand (adopted missionaries and unreached people group, strategy team on field), Middle East, Romania
• Missions online prayer fellowship
• Faith Commitment Offering for World Missions (systematic giving throughout the year, includes denominational offerings)

2. Bring the world to Hillcrest

• Global Impact Celebration (annually 4 days in late February, 18-20 missionary units, saturate the church with global vision and challenge to involvement).
• Missionary house (on campus, rent-free for missionary families on leave)
• Special emphases (Cooperative Program, Week of Prayer for International Missions, etc.)
• Mission trip reports, guest speakers, missions center in the foyer
