Missions Ministry

Commission

Acts 1:8
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (NKJV)

Vision

Our aim is to personalize missions by helping each believer to discover their role and fulfill their purpose in God’s global cause – gathering worshipers to Himself. In obedience to Jesus’ command and to facilitate personalization, our church is organized as a world mission strategy center using the Acts 1:8 guideline with teams that seek to reach people with the gospel in our Jerusalem (community), Judea/Samaria (Texas and nation), and Ends of the Earth (international).

Goals

We set five goals in our mission efforts:

  • Provide ministries to reach people with the gospel where they are
  • Provide focused, specific, and timely prayer support
  • Provide strategic financial support
  • Provide volunteer mission teams as needed
  • Provide opportunities for personal witness

Strategy

Our strategy for involving our people in global missions is twofold:

1) Take Hillcrest to the world through our ministries and partnerships

  • Jerusalem – High Pointe Apartment Ministry, Cedar Hill Food Pantry, Crisis Pregnancy Center, Bridges
  • Safehouse, Cedar Hill State Park Campers Ministry, Nursing Home Ministry
  • Judea/Samaria – Frontier Association (Wyoming)
  • Ends of the Earth – Thailand (adopted missionaries and unreached people group), Cairo, Romania

2) Bring the world to Hillcrest

  • Global Impact Celebration – annually 4 days in late February, 13-15 missionary units, saturate the church with global vision and challenge to involvement.
  • Faith Commitment Offering for World Missions – regular giving throughout the year, includes support for denominational special offerings.
