Good morning! I’m glad to welcome you to worship today at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Once again, Jesus is confronted, this time by another group–the Sadducees–in an attempt to entrap Him, so that they could have Him arrested and put to death. The Sadducees come to Jesus with a subject in which they held no belief, the resurrection. It has been well said that the Sadducees were “sad u see” because of their disbelief in the resurrection!

The resurrection, life after death, is the glorious hope of all who believe in Jesus. In this confrontation between the Sadducees and Jesus, we find great affirmation of the wonderful truths of the resurrection, life after death, and heaven.

As the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Corinth, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.” (1 Corinthians 15:19). In other words, in this life we hear, see, and even experience injustice, evil, and pain, and we suffer endings and death; if there is no reality of eternal life where believers will live forever in the presence of God, then we really have no hope at all.

This morning we will find that the words of Jesus in Matthew 22:23-33 affirm “THE RESURRECTION IS FOR REAL.”
