Wednesday Night Live is our weekly discipleship programs for children ages two through sixth grade.

Lil' Explorers

Lil’ Explorers is a weekly program for preschoolers 3 years old- Kindergarten.  Children must be three years of age as of September 1st .

The program provides preschoolers with foundational truths about God, the Bible, and salvation.  It features Scripture memorization and basic Bible truths preschoolers can understand.  We recognize that parents are the primary spiritual influence of the home and we want to partner with parents to work as a team in spiritually nurturing your child.

Since home is the primary place for spiritual nurture, Lil’s Explorers is designed to equip, encourage, and support parents in this task.  Each week parents help their child memorize the verse and complete activities in their book. Please send your book with your child to Lil’ Explorers each week.

During Lil’ Explorers your child will learn a new Bible verse each week that is taught and reinforced through fun learning activities, crafts, play, and songs.  It is our prayer that by creating this partnership, we hope to “cement” each week’s verse into our Lil Explorers’ hearts and minds.

Lil’s Explorer time is broken down into six areas:  Wiggle Worship Time, Bible Verse Time, Mission Story Time,  Craft and Learning Activities Time, Play Time, and Snack Time.

Lil’ Explorers meet every Wednesday evening, September through May, unless otherwise noted on the Children’s Ministry Calendar.   The Lil’ Explorer program begins at 6:15 PM and ends at 7:45PM

If you would like additional information concerning this program, please contact Keri Meek.

Nehemiah Kid (NK) Leaders In Training (LIT)

Hillcrest Baptist Church believes in parents and their important part in the discipleship of their children. Youth surveyed nationwide say their number one source of spiritual truth is Mom and Dad, not the pastor, youth pastor or Sunday School teacher. We believe in the family and provide materials that help families grow together and learn a Christian worldview.

What Is Nehemiah Kids and Leaders in Training?

Nehemiah Kids is for children 1st through 4th grade and Leaders in Training is for children in the 5th and 6th grades. Through this ministry, adult leaders work with the children to:

  • lead any of them who are lost to a saving knowledge of Christ,
  • help them discover their identity in Christ,
  • disciple them in spiritual disciplines,
  • equip them for sharing the Gospel and doing ministry, and
  • help them find places of service in the church, in the community, and on the mission field.

Ministry Objectives for NK and LIT

These ministries aims to:

  • teach parents the importance of disciplining their children and assist them in the process of disciplining their  children,

  • teach them how to pray and spend time alone with God,
  • teach them how to be leaders in the church,
