Since 2006, Hillcrest has gathered each year for our Global Impact Celebration (GIC), a weekend to corporately celebrate God’s work around the world and renew our commitment to the Great Commission. With powerful times of corporate worship and fascinating interaction with guest missionaries, the weekend is a time of celebration for God’s work. But GIC is also a time of commitment. As a church body, we will commit ourselves to sacrificial prayer, giving, and personal involvement in Jesus’ Great Commission. Dozens of individuals have been called to serve in both local and distant missions during GIC.

This year’s GIC kicks off on Sunday, February 11 as we welcome Dr. Paul Negrut, President of Emanuel University and Seminary in Oradea, Romania to preach in our 9:00 and 10:30 AM services. Gilberto Santiago, who serves with the Dallas Baptist Association’s Seminario Teológico Bautista de Dallas will preach at the 11:00 AM service at Hillcrest en Español. Each Sunday School class will interact with guest missionaries during class fellowships on Sunday evening. There will be a church-wide missions prayer dinner on Monday evening as we spend time in prayer for missions and our mission partners.  GIC wraps up on Wednesday, February 14 with Dr. David Platt, President of the International Mission Board.

Our Global Focus Offering, which promotes systematic giving, will be emphasized throughout GIC. It supports most of the missions projects at our church.  Pray about your part in the Global Focus Offering and plan to join us for a wonderful weekend of celebration and commitment. God is doing great things around His world and we get to play a part!
