Good morning! I’m glad to welcome you to worship today at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
C. H. Spurgeon wrote of Psalm 1: “It is an old saying, and possibly a true one, that every man is seeking after happiness. If it be so, then every man should read this Psalm, for this directeth us where happiness is to be, found in its highest degree and purest form.”
Sadly, many men are pursuing happiness in life through venues that often times lead to misery, and anything but happiness. But for REAL MEN, men that know and love the Lord Jesus Christ, our lives must not be led by a fallen and misguided culture, but by the truth of God’s Word.
Jesus said, “If you continue in My word, you really are My disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
As a man sets His heart for the truth, way and life of God, that man will be set free to become the REAL MAN that God has created and called him to be. In Psalm 1:1-3 we discover the kind of men that God designed a man to be, and how we can be a REAL MAN.
