Good morning! I’m glad to welcome you to worship today at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
One week following our Resurrection Celebration Service we find ourselves in the third and final sermon of our series entitled “Last Words.” Having looked at “It is Finished” and “He is Risen,” we now turn our attention to the Great Commission as found in the book of Acts: “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses…” (Acts 1:8).
The one distinguishing characteristic of those who were clothed with power from on high was that they could not stop giving witness to all that they had seen in and heard about the life of Christ. Much more than just a feeling, they had the Holy Spirit working in and through them testifying to the Kingdom of God!
We long for there to be an awakening in the life of our church that is distinctively marked by the power of God at work, but we can’t do it without his presence!
