Good morning! I’m glad to welcome you to worship today at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
It is a great joy to have each of you with us at Hillcrest Baptist Church. What a privilege it is for us to gather together as one body and worship our Lord and Savior. I especially want to congratulate all of our high school, college, and graduate school graduates. I pray that you would be sensitive and submissive to the Lord’s will as you move into the next phase of life.
As we continue our study of 2 Timothy, we will examine one of my favorite verses in Scripture. Paul tells Timothy, “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7). This same spirit belongs to all of those who are children of God. However, we must not forget why God has given us this new attitude: so that we might boldly proclaim the Gospel. God has commissioned each believer to this mission. This idea has led our church to make “missional living” one of our core values. If all these things are true, why do we still struggle to proclaim the Gospel boldly where we live, work, and play? How do we work to consistently carry out this mission? This morning, we will discuss how we might be faithful to pass on the message of the Gospel. I pray that the Gospel mission would drive every aspect of our lives.
