Good morning! I’m glad to welcome you to worship today at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

As we conclude our study through the book of Ruth this morning, we are going to see in “TRUTHS FROM RUTH”, Ruth 4:13-22 how God is always at work to accomplish His plans. God is at work in the Naomis of life that are bitter and barren, desiring to move them into His blessing. God is at work in the Ruths of life that are available and willing to seek Him, as they are the ones that “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work…You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion.” We will observe in the barrenness of Naomi and Ruth’s lives (chapter 1) that God was at work moving them towards His greatest blessing for them–the birth of Obed.

It seems that God does His greatest work in the darkest circumstances, especially when we place our trust in Him, because God knows the end from the beginning, and that means He already knows what He wants to do in our lives to move us toward all that He has planned for our lives.

“I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please…what I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.” Isaiah 46:9-11
