Good morning! I’m glad to welcome you to worship today at Hillcrest Baptist Church. 

In our study of the Fruit of the Spirit we will look at the virtue of GENTLENESS. Gentleness is more commonly translated as meekness. It is the same word that Jesus used in Matthew 5:5 when he said, “blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”

What Jesus said concerning the being meek is completely opposite of what the world says about gaining or getting ahead. The world says blessed are those with money, muscle or might, for they are the ones that will inherit the earth. But Jesus said, “blessed are the meek.”

This morning we will look to the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-29, and learn from our Lord what it means for His disciples to be gentle.
