Everyone wants to live a life that matters. Why else do we do the things we do? We strive for success in our careers, for promotions and position, because we want to make a difference. Just look at how we encourage our kids in sports, the arts, and academics. We encourage them to go to college so they can get a good job and be successful, and make a lot of money, all in hope that they will be successful and make a difference.

Not that any of these goals are bad, but those things alone will not bring fulfillment in life, or eternally change the world. We are each created for a greater purpose. Ultimately, we are created to bring glory to God, and once we have become a “new creation” in Christ, one of the ways that we bring glory to God is by using our spiritual gift(s) to build the church (Ephesians 4:11-13).

In our message today, I LOVE THE CHURCH: A Place to Discover, Develop and Deploy Your Spiritual Gift (s), Ephesians 4:11-12 will teach us how God has given every believer at least one spiritual gift for service in the church, and how He expects us to develop and use our gift(s).
