In the previous verses, as you recall, James has dealt with the matter of external trials. In James 1:13-15  we learn about the matter of internal temptations. The previous verses (v. 2-12 ) discuss how our lives are tested in our faith. The passage before us today discusses how we are tempted to sin. God will allow trials in our lives to test us and grow us, but it is Satan that brings temptations before us to enslave and destroy us.

Temptation is common to everyone. No one is exempt from the reality and experience of temptation. James 1:13-15  helps us to better understand the problem and process of temptation so that we can know the way of conquering temptation .
