Dr. Albert Schweitzer, the famous medical missionary, was once asked what is the best way to raise children? His response, “There are three ways: by example, by example, and by example.”

Throughout the epistle of James, we have been learning about showing our faith, demonstrating outwardly the work God is doing inwardly in our lives, and not for the purpose of boasting or being recognized, but as a witness to those that do not know our Lord Jesus Christ, and as an encouragement for other believers in Christ.

II Timothy 3:1 teaches that difficult times will come, especially before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christians will experience many temptations and pressures. G. Campbell Morgan wrote, “The coming of the Lord is the perpetual light shining on the path which makes the present bearable.” In James 5:7-12 we will learn how to be patient—He is coming.
