We live in a world that is dominated by fear. Over 40 million people in the United States (1 in every 5) struggle with anxiety. Our televisions and social media feeds are a constant stream of reasons to fear for our finances, our families, or the future of our planet. Even in our day-to-day lives, we are afraid of losing a job, losing a loved one, or of what people might think of us if they knew who we really were.

Fear is a fact, but is it God’s design. In II Timothy 1:7, Paul would answer this question with a resounding “NO!” As we will examine during the message today, God has given us power, love, and self-control that can and should overwhelm the fears and anxieties that plague us. The question we must answer today (as always) is: will we believe God’s Word more than what our eyes can see or how we feel in this moment?

Our prayer is that you are challenged and encouraged by the service this morning, and that you come to know the peace and comfort of Jesus in a real and tangible way.
