Psalm 9:10 says, “And those who know your name put their trust in you.” Proverbs 18:10 tells us that “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” We are told in Psalm 124:8 “Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”
When we know Him, we trust Him. How well do you know the names of God? Most have never really taken the time to know and learn the meaning of the different names of God, and because we don’t know His many names we miss out on the many blessings that He desires to share in our lives.
Last Sunday we began a new sermon series, “He Is…,” and over the next several weeks we will be learning about several of the names of God, and what His names reveal about how He desires to bless His people.
Today we will learn in Exodus 3:10-15 that He is Yahweh, the covenant keeping God. Yahweh is the name that God said is His Forever name. It is the most special, the most precious name of God. God also calls it His Forever name. It is God’s covenant name, and He gives this name to Moses to let him know that He would be faithful to do all that He had told Moses, when He called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt.
