This morning we are going to learn about El Shaddai, “God is Almighty.” What does that mean for us in every day, practical life application?
We definitely understand the expression of God’s might as the Creator. He is the Creator of all things. The Scripture is emphatically clear about God being the Creator. “All things were made by Him, and without him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:3). All things were created through the Lord’s power and for Him.
In Genesis 17:1-27 we discover that in the life of aging, 99 years old Abraham, that Almighty God would still be able to fulfill His promise in giving him a son to be the heir of the covenant promise that God had given to Abraham 24 years earlier.
El Shaddai means that whatever you are facing, you should keep holding on to the promises that God has given you through His Word, and know that He is Almighty and able to fulfill His promises to you whether it is today, tomorrow, next month, next year or even 24 years from now. He will be faithful and is always able to handle whatever you are facing.
It has been said, “It is better to die in faith than to live in doubt.” You keep on trusting God. Jesus said in Revelation 2:10 – Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life
