Worshipping God through Music

Our music ministry is centered around worship! Anytime you hear the word “worship” mentioned in a Christian setting, the first thing that comes to mind for most Christians is “music”– what we do as a body of believers each week. While it is true we can find great joy in worshiping God through music, our act of worship should not be limited to a song or a series of songs we sing each Sunday morning. True worship of the Living God should be reflected in our lifestyle in every moment.

If you have a heart for music, you will find opportunities to serve!

Matthew 22:37 says, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” “All” is not limited to Sunday mornings – “all” is everything we have, every moment we are given in every situation that God brings into our path. At Hillcrest, we are asking God to create a desire within all of us to honor, glorify and praise God through our lives.

Worship Choir

Every week, students and adults combine their vocal talents to lead our church family in times of worship and celebration. This ministry incorporates choral selections and solos from a broad range of styles to encourage and inspire those who hear to trust the Lord fully. In addition, seasonal concerts, programs, and nights of worship provide special occasions to rejoice and celebrate together!

The Choir leads worship in both Sunday services most every week and rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM in the Choir Suite behind the Worship Center. For information about choir, email music@hillcrestbc.com.

Orchestra

Psalm 150 is a rousing call for “…everyone (who has) life and breath” to praise the Lord with instruments. Adults and students use their instrumental talents to partner with the choir and worship teams in leading our church to celebrate and worship each week and seasonally for our annual programs and concerts.

The Orchestra leads out in worship most every week in both of our worship services and rehearses on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM in the Worship Center to prepare to lead worship on Sundays. This group is open to adults and students (9th grade and older) with 2 or more years of playing experience. Frontline Vocal Team

The Frontline Vocal Team leads out in worship during our services. The group consists of auditioned members of the Worship Choir who are on a rotation and scheduled through the Worship Ministry office. For more information, email the Worship Ministry Office at music@hillcrestbc.com.

Handbells

Our Handbells play in the service several times throughout the year. They also regularly play at local Assisted Living Centers and Nursing Homes.

The Handbells rehearse on Sundays at 2:30 PM in A110 behind the Worship Center. For information about choir, email music@hillcrestbc.com.

Senior Adult Choir
