I was raised on the international mission field in São Paulo, Brazil where my parents served as Southern Baptist missionaries specializing in the field of church music. At the age of nine, while on furlough, I made my profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized several weeks later. It was a commitment to live my life for God that eventually blossomed into full-time Christian service. While in college the Lord called me into the ministry. My initial passion was and continues to be, making disciples. Seeing others come to Christ and living for Christ is most fulfilling. For me, children are a top priority in this disciple making process. The Bible is the primary text for making disciples as it directs us to our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

While preparing for the ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary I met my wife, Rhonda. She, too, is an MK (missionary kid). Rhonda is a licensed school social worker working with Arlington ISD. We both love missions and have participated in countless missions projects locally and globally. We have two children; Clint who is married to Kristy and they have one son, James. Sarah is married to Ryan and they are expecting a girl in August 2020. Rhonda’s mother, Glenna, now lives us.

Here at Hillcrest I enjoy providing ministerial leadership for adults, discipleship, outreach/evangelism, education team, and wherever else needed. Rhonda and I have served 32 years in ministry in Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Tennessee. We also have a combined 29 years of overseas missions’ experience.

I like soccer, chess set collecting, jogging, golf, hot sauces, and reading leadership and war books. One of my key life verses comes from Jeremiah 33:3, Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Education: I attended Clemson University and am a graduate of Samford University (BA), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MARE and MDiv) and Campbell University Divinity School (DMin).
Years I joined Hillcrest:
2018

What is the #1 thing on your bucket list? The number one thing on my bucket list is a trip to the Holy Land.
