October 14 is the day that we begin our Revival Services with Evangelist Rick Coram of Jacksonville, Florida. Bro. Rick is no stranger to many at Hillcrest as he has been with us as recently as August 2011. We are always challenged, convicted, and blessed by the preaching ministry of Bro. Rick.

On Sunday, September 9, I challenged our wonderful Sunday School leadership team to make October 14 our High Attendance Day in Sunday School. The real emphasis is not so much a large number but to reach out to those that have not attended in recent weeks, and inviting unchurched family and friends to attend. There are many that are just waiting to hear from someone that they care. It is amazing what God can do through a visit, a card, an e-mail, or a phone call that has been bathed in prayer and extended with a heart filled with the love of God.

As you plan to attend and invite others to attend please do not fail to daily pray for God to move in these services. As the old hymn, Bretheren We Have Met to Worship, so precisely and correctly states:

Brethren, we have met to worship and adore the Lord our God;
Will you pray with all your power, while we try to preach the Word?
All is vain unless the Spirit of the Holy One comes down;
Brethren, pray, and holy manna will be showered all around.
