Dallas Baptist University and the Oak Cliff Partnership has named Hillcrest Baptist Church, Colonial Hills Baptist Church and Pastor Mike Simmons as recipients of the DBU-Oak Cliff Partnership’s Good Samaritan Award for 2017.

The Good Samaritan Award recognizes the contributions made by Good Samaritans who have made the Oak Cliff community a better place to live and work.  This year, two awards are being given. One award is being given to Mrs. Vivian Skinner who has worked tirelessly as a civic leader in the Oak Cliff community and served faithfully as a board member of Tyler Street Christian Academy.

The award is being presented jointly to Hillcrest Baptist Church, Colonial Hills Baptist Church, and to Pastor Mike Simmons. The award specifically cites our church’s Christ-like service and leadership in the community.  We recognize that we have been able to serve and lead because of God’s grace, in response to His call to love and serve Him and to love and serve others.

The awards will be presented at the DBU-Oak Cliff Partnership Dinner, an evening dedicated to rejoicing over what God has done and, most importantly, to raising funds for scholarships for students in the area.

The DBU-Oak Cliff Partnership Dinner will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 6:30 PM in the John G. Mahler Student Center on the campus of Dallas Baptist University.  Please let us know if you would like to join us in celebration of what God has done and in continued support as DBU “produces Christ-centered servant leaders who are transforming the world.” The cost for an individual ticket is $50, with all proceeds going to scholarships.

Additionally, if you would like to purchase a table and invite friends who support DBU’s work shaping lives, you may purchase a table (for 8 guests) at the $500 Silver level, $1,000 Gold level, $2,500 Platinum level, or $5,000 Diamond level.

Please RSVP no later than March 27 by contacting the Hillcrest office. Ask specifically for Valerie, or email her at [email protected].
