Good morning! I’m glad to welcome you to worship today at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
This is the seventh and final sermon in our Vision Frame Series. Up to this point, each of our sermons have helped “frame” our Vision for the future.
The first week we discussed our Mission and Measures. Mission answers the question: “What are we doing?” Our Mission is “Loving and Serving God, Loving and Serving Others” and expresses what our church is ultimately supposed to be doing. But if we stopped there, we’d have nothing more than a destination, a plotted course. That’s why we chose to give you a realignment tool, or discipleship tool, that we call the 4×4. For each of the 4 components in our Mission Statement, we’ve listed 4 additional measures that will help keep us on target. They describe what life looks like when we are living out our Mission, and answers the question “When are we Successful?”
But “Why are we ‘Loving and Serving’ both God and others?” The second week was spent talking about our Values…the shared convictions that both guide our actions and reveal the strengths of our church. We Value biblical truth, passionate worship, authentic relationships, missional living and prayer.
For the last four weeks, we wanted to spend time showing you how we were going to accomplish our church’s mission on the broadest level. You may ask, “How are we going to accomplish our Mission?” We long for every believer to Worship, Grow, Serve and Go as a part of our Hillcrest Strategy.
So with our “frame” in place, where exactly is God Taking Us? That’s what we take a look at this week! Our Vision is “to encounter God and equip believers to engage others with the Gospel!”
